That deadly fire on North Center Street on October 3^rd was due in part to the hoarding conditions in the house. The Marshalltown Fire Department says 71-year old Kenneth Hazen died in the blaze at 608 North Center. The hoarding hindered the victim’s attempt to flee, as well as the fire department’s ability to access the fire in the living room.
