It sounds like the understatement of the day may be that the ladies who took part in Thursday’s Power of the Purse fundraiser for the Marshalltown Area United Way had a good time…and United Way Executive Director Kendra Sorenson says that good time led to good results. $17,775 dollars worth of purses were purchased by the capacity crowd at Elmwood Country Club.

That total helping push the campaign for the United Way towards its goal of $800,000. The campaign to date has raised $212,500.
