Union workers at Lennox’s Marshalltown plant will vote on a new contract this afternoon. According to the Facebook page of UAW Local 893, a tentative agreement was reached between the union and the company on Friday. The post says the vote will be at 2:00 this afternoon at the Impala Ballroom. Lennox employs approximately 900 at its Marshalltown facility.

Meantime, UAW workers for John Deere will vote on a new contract tomorrow. The initial contract was rejected the Deere workers have been on strike since October 14th. The new contract reportedly calls for an immediate ten percent raise. The company says the new six-year-long agreement would cover workers at 15 production, maintenance and parts facilities. About 67-hundred people work at Deere plants in Iowa.
