Projects in Marshalltown, Grinnell and Nevada were among those granted Community Action and Tour Grants, also known as CAT grants, from the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
Marshalltown will receive $400,000 to assist with the rebuilding of the Marshalltown Arts And CIvic Center building, former the Fisher Community Center. The first phase of the three-point-six million dollar renovation includes multiple enhancements to the auditorium, meeting rooms and office and for code updates.
Grinnell has been granted $350,000 as part of a nearly two million dollar renovation of the Grinnell Veterans Memorial Building.
Nevada will receive $424,000 for construction of a new fieldhouse with a total price tag of nearly seven-point-eight million dollars.
Overall, more than five million dollars were awarded for the projects around the state.
