For whatever reasons, the number of shooting at schools across the country continues to rise and continue to strike fear into parents, their kids and school administrators.
Marshalltown Superintendent Dr. Theron Schutte notes that any threat of any kind is taken seriously, and like two recent situations in the district, those responsible are usually found quickly and dealt with. Still, Schutte notes these incidents cause so much concern for parents.
Schutte says when those responsible for the threats are determined, they are usually given the maximum suspension and police charges are filed.
