All 99 counties in the state saw year over year decreases in unemployment in November. Marshall County’s rate fee to 3.9 percent as compared to 5.2 in November of 2020. Story County continues to have the lowest unemployment in Central Iowa at 1.8 percent, down from 2.4 percent in November of 2020. The state unemployment dropped two tenths of percent to 3.1.
The city of Marshalltown’s unemployment rose a half a percent from October to November to an even five percent. Marshalltown now has the highest rate among cities in the state.
