THE MARSHALLTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT IS SEEKING INDIVIDUALS WHO WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE UPCOMING 2022 CITIZEN POLICE ACADEMY.
THE MARSHALLTOWN ACADEMY IS SIMILAR TO THE TRADITIONAL POLICE ACADEMY, BUT ITS STUDENTS ARE NOT POTENTIAL POLICE OFFICERS.
THE ACADEMY IS DESIGNED TO HELP LOCAL CITIZENS BECOME MORE FAMILIAR WITH THE LOCAL POLICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH EDUCATION.
CLASS SESSIONS WILL COVER AREAS SUCH AS CRIMINAL LAW, POLICE PROCEDURES, AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS. ACTIVE CLASS PARTICIPATION IS ENCOURAGED DURING EACH SESSION.
THE MARSHALLTOWN POLICE ACADEMY WILL BEGIN ON MARCH 22ND AT THE MARSHALLTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT, LOCATED AT 909 SOUTH SECOND STREET. INDIVIDUAL CLASS SESSIONS WILL BE HELD ON TUESDAYS FROM 6 P.M. TO 9 P.M.
