Prosecutors have dismissed a second court case against a man who exposed what many have viewed as the inhumane killing of hundreds of pigs at two Iowa pork processing plants.
Agriculture industry supporters say the man’s intentions were in direct conflict with the state’s “ag gag” laws.
Matt Johnson was scheduled to go on trial Thursday on counts of burglary, electronic eavesdropping and food operation trespass at Iowa select farms properties in 2020.
The case was dismissed by a judge on Wednesday at the request of county prosecutors.
Last January, prosecutors in Grundy County dismissed two counts of trespassing against Johnson at the request of Iowa Select after company personnel were subpoenaed to testify.
