A Marshalltown man who was arrested one month ago for allegedly having inappropriate bodily contact with a child now faces an additional charge of second degree sexual abuse, which is a class B felony.

Gustavo Dominguez-Rodriguez, 37, is accused of engaging in a sex act with a child under the age of 12 in August of 2021, according to a court complaint. He was arrested on December 8th and placed in the Marshall County Jail without bond. The bond amount has since been adjusted to $25,000 cash on the sexual abuse charge and $2,000 cash on the indecent contact charge.

Dominguez-Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo a preliminary hearing on the inappropriate bodily contact charge on January 28th, with an initial hearing on the felony sexual abuse charge to take place on January 31st.
