City officials in Marshalltown held an open house on Wednesday to unveil plans for the reconstruction of State Street.

A detailed outline of the project was on display at the Coliseum Building located on West State Street.

Greg Broussard of Bolton and Menk Corporation is the lead engineer for the project.

According to Broussard, the State Street reconstruction is actually the first phase of what will be an extensive street improvement project taking shape in the near future within the downtown area of Marshalltown.

If all goes according to plan, the State Street Reconstruction Project will get underway in Marshalltown in the spring of 2022.
