At a special meeting Tuesday, the Marshall County Supervisors spent time reviewing its options regarding Perfection/First Onsite, the former contractor involved with the courthouse reconstruction project.

The county had terminated its original service contract that was in place with Perfection/First Onsite in July of f2021 due to various inconsistencies and reports of damage incurred at the courthouse. Breiholz construction was then hired to serve as the general contractor for the courthouse project in August.

In making the decision, the county board noted that Breiholz is top notch when it comes to utilizing procore construction software, which makes documentation and billing much easier.

The county recently met with its insurance company, at which time slightly more than one-million dollars was released to Perfection/First Online for work completed at the courthouse between January and May of last year.

Local officials plan to meet with Perfection/First on site again in the near future to further discuss what lies ahead as far as wrapping up loose ends and permanently severing ties with the company.
