At Wednesday’s meeting, the Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors approved adding new sports programs at campuses in Iowa Falls and Marshalltown during the 2022-23 school year.

Women’s wrestling will be added at Ellsworth Community College with women’s soccer and men’s and women’s e-sports to be offered at Marshalltown Community College during the upcoming academic year.

Chancellor Kristie Fisher noted that each sport is likely to show significant growth in the coming years, and athletics, in general, are a vital asset when it comes to increasing overall enrollment on college campuses.
