A Hardin County man has died from injuries suffered in a recent farming accident in north central Iowa.
On Saturday, emergency responders from Webster County were summoned to a report of a farming accident at a hog farm near Gowrie.
According to Webster County Sheriff Derek Christie, two semi trucks were waiting to unload at a farm located on 390th Street at approximately 2:30 a.m.
One unnamed semi driver was moving his truck and did not realize the other truck driver, 27-year-old Michael Pittman, of Steamboat Rock, was between the two semis, according to the sheriff’s office. As the driver was backing up and turning his semi, Pittman accidentally became caught between the two semis.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by local authorities.
