At this week’s meeting, the Poweshiek County Supervisors heard from Ashley Fallis, representing General Assistance, who was on hand to discuss rent assistance guidelines that are in placed on the county level.

It was noted that  the current guidelines in place for rent assistance do not specifically set forth anything regarding lot rent.  Fallis informed the board that she had contacted several other counties which do pay for lot rent.  Upon further review, the board approved for lot rent to be included within the guidelines under rent assistance.

At this week’s meeting, County I-T Director Gayln Nook provided the board with an update on current work activities taking place within the I-T Department, as well as some I-T matters that are taking place at the sheriff’s office.
