Iowa Valley Continuing Education is offering two different estate planning courses for those who may be considering retiring in the near future.
Estate Planning for Empty Nesters (Class ID 9864), will provide information to help people work more effectively with their professional and legal advisors. The topics include property ownership, wills, federal and Iowa inheritance taxes, gifting, nursing home insurance and planning, trusts, and gift taxes. The class will be held on Wednesday, March 2nd from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at IVCE in Room 610 on the Marshalltown Community College campus.
Thinking of retiring in the next few years but are confused by all the advice? An Alternate View (Class ID 9863), will be a realistic discussion about when to take social security. There will be time during class to ask questions. The class will be held at Iowa Valley Continuing Education in Room 608 in Marshalltown on Wednesday, March 23rd from 6 to 8 p.m.
The instructor for both classes, Steve Kenkel, is a lawyer who has been dealing with complicated retirement issues for more than 35 years. The cost of each class is $30, or $20 each for couples registering together. To register or for more information you can contact IVCE at (641) 752-4645 or (800) 284-4823.
