A special project is underway in the Marshalltown area to restore a historic cemetery which sustained extensive damage from a derecho which impacted the area in the year 2020.
The Riverside cemetery, which runs along Highway 14, Riverside Street, and North Center Street received major damage and is in need of long-term repair, as a result.
A special committee has since been established, which is looking to replace a notable section of fencing which runs alongside the cemetery.
Steel plaques are currently being offered for sale to various individuals and businesses within the Marshalltown area, with the plaques to be mounted on panels of newly installed fencing at the Riverside Cemetery.
