The filing period for candidates wishing to run for county office in the state of Iowa begins on March 7th and runs through March 25th.

Candidates for all soil and water and agricultural extension boards, however, can file until August 31st, as those positions are considered non-partisan.

Primary elections throughout the state of Iowa will be held on June 7th with the general election slated to take place on November 8th.
