Kelsea Ballerini and Kenny Chesney’s “Half Of My Hometown” is officially the No. 1 song on the Mediabase Country Radio Singles chart, and Billboard’s Country Airplay chart.
The 28-year-old Ballerini wrote an emotional Instagram post in honor of the achievement: “Through very happy tears, Half of my Hometown is the number one song in country music this week. It’s my seventh number one (wait WHAT!)…and it’s my favorite.” Ballerini went on to list out how her hometown of Knoxville, Tennessee, helped shape her as a person and artist, and shouted out thanks to Chesney, her co-writers and her record label.
Ballerini co-wrote “Half Of My Hometown” alongside Jimmy Robbins, Nicolle Galyon, Shane McAnally and Ross Copperman; it is the fourth single off of Ballerini’s self-titled third full-length studio album Kelsea and was recently certified Gold, marking the seventh RIAA Gold and Platinum certification from the project.
