The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors has approved a new graphic mapping proposal for the Marshalltown campus with the Marshalltown Police Department.

The mapping proposal would allow both entities to work more closely and efficiently together in  the event of an actual emergency on campus.

The cost of the project for IVCCD would be just under $6,000.

The proposal was unanimously approved by the IVCCD Board of Directors during their regular meeting on Wednesday.

Local officials hope to have the project in place by this coming June, at which time a “mass casualty simulation” event is being planned by the Marshalltown Police Department and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office.
