A weekend disturbance at a Marshalltown area hotel has resulted in a woman being arrested by police on two separate charges.

On Saturday afternoon, Marshalltown Police were summoned to a hotel  located at 2009 South Center Street in response to a report of a domestic type incident in progress.

Twenty-eight-year-old Alicia Vargas was arrested by police on charges of Domestic Abuse Assault Causing Bodily Injury and Filing a False Report.

Marshalltown Police have arrested a man on assault and weapon charges after officers responded to a report of a disturbance within the city limits of Marshalltown.

Martin Sanchez-Garcia was arrested by police on charges of having possession of a short-barreled rifle or shotgun and assault with a firearm.
