Over 265 students, parents, and guests turned out Monday evening for the annual Nevada High School FFA Chapter Banquet.

The evening started at 7 p.m. in Gates Hall with a smoked pork chop dinner including Cheezy Au Gratin Potatoes, Green Beans, Dinner Rolls, and Chris Lloyd Chocolate Brownie Cake Ala Mode.

The FFA officer team open the banquet ceremony and the led into membership degrees awarded to over 65 students.

Degree awards included recognizing Samantha Black for receiving the prestigious American FFA Degree at the National FFA Convention last fall.  Other awards included both FFA Skill Career Development events and Leadership Career Development events.  In addition, two state proficiency runner-ups were recognized, as well as recognizing community supporters.

The Star Freshmen Greenhand Award went to Lily Henderson, and the Star Chapter Member Award was presented to senior Ella Toot.

The evening concluded with a video high light of chapter activities produced by Addie  Anderson and Ella Toot.

Mr. Kevin Cooper was also presented with a floral arrangement and card by the officer team in appreciation for his tireless dedication and extra time put forth in the classroom, labs, and FFA Chapter.
