The Marshalltown Police Department is investigating the theft of merchandise from two Marshalltown area businesses.

On Thursday evening, Marshalltown Police received word that a quantity of merchandise valued a between $300 and $750 was taken from the Marshalltown Menard’s store, located a 504 Iowa Avenue.

Marshalltown Police were also notified of another theft incident which occurred late Thursday afternoon at Thompson True Value Hardware, located at 106 South Center Street.

According to a police incident report, a quantity of merchandise valued at less than $300 was taken from the store.

Both incidents remain under investigation by the Marshalltown Police Department.
