The Ames Police Department is collaboration with the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Division conducted alcohol compliance checks of local licensed liquor establishments on March 10th, 2022.

Eight establishments were checked.  The checks revealed that two businesses sold alcohol to an underage person.

The employees of the businesses, in turn, were cited for providing alcohol to a person under the legal drinking age.

The Ames Police Department will continue to work with the Alcohol Beverages Division to complete additional checks of businesses in the near future.
