On Thursday, representatives from the East Marshall High School student philanthropy group – “Students Empowering and Leading”, along with the Community Foundation of Marshall County hosted a virtual town hall event depicting current mental health issues affecting today’s youth.
The event was designed to better educate parents on mental health in their children and how to approach discussions on the subject.
Jessica Christiansen, who serves as the Director of Community Development and Training at “Please Pass the Love,” began the presentation with information about depression and anxiety in high school and middle school students.
Alex Rohn, a licensed mental health counselor and the therapeutic outreach coordinator for :Please Pass the Love,” also spoke at Thursday’s town hall event.
