The Grinnell Fire Department responded to an early morning structure fire outside the community on Saturday.

The blaze, which broke out in a rural area along 360th Avenue, was fully involved by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

Strong winds that were prevalent at the time helped the fire to spread quickly.

Firefighters from nearby Gilman were also called upon to help battle the blaze.

Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately an hour-and-a-half.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
