The unemployment rate for Marshall County for the month of February was reported at eight-point-nine percent, which is a slight decline from the rate of nine-point-zero percent, which was reported for the same time period a year ago.

In January 2022, the Marshalltown metropolitan area reported that 10,420 people were employed city-wide and the labor force participation rate was  13.4 percent, according to data received from Iowa Workforce Development.

The Marshalltown area reported 1,360 people were unemployed in February 2022 and the city’s monthly unemployment rate was 11.4 percent.
