At Monday’s meeting, the Marshalltown School Board by unanimous margin approved the district’s 2023 certified budget as presented.
A public hearing was held prior to the matter being voted on with no comments being presented.
The new budget includes a property tax rate of $17.85 per one-thousand dollars of taxable valuation.
Under the newly approved budget, expenditures totaling $124,115,374 were also approved for the 2022-23 school year.
The board also approved a proposed amendment to the district’s 2022 certified budget due to increased expenditures involving federal pandemic resources, primarily in salaries and benefits and instruction and support services.
At Monday’s meeting, the board also approved specified wording changes to the Marshalltown Education Association Tentative Agreement and the Nutrition Professionals Tentative Agreement.
The board also approved an out-of-state field trip on behalf of XLP teacher Susan Fritzell and MHS student Landon Stanley to attend the International Science and Engineering Fair at the Georgian World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
