UnityPoint Health Grinnell Regional Medical Center has updated it visitor guidelines, effective April 5th to allow two visitors per patient in all clinics and hospital departments.
Under the new guidelines, all visitors and caregivers must be free of any signs of illness, must wear a mask, regardless of vaccination status; must be 16 years of age or older; must remain in the patient room as appropriate; must limit movement within the facility and avoid common areas including the cafeteria; should consider washing their hands with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand foam or gel upon entering a patient’s room; and must follow additional personal protective equipment instruction, if requested by a team member.
Anyone who fails to comply with the newly listed guidelines will be asked to leave.
The visitor restrictions were initially put in place on March 11, 2020, in response to the global outbreak of COVIS-19. The intent of the visitor restrictions remains to keep patients, team members and GRMC communities safe by decreasing traffic into and out of the hospital and clinics.
