A high-speed chase which originated Friday evening in Polk County came to an end a little more than an hour & a half after it began when the driver of the vehicle crashed into an Iowa State patrol car just outside of Marshalltown. Officials say 25 year old Jessi Engle of Bondurant was driving a Chevy Cobalt eastbound on State Highway 330 when officers from Polk County attempted to initiate a traffic stop. Instead, Engle sped away along highway 330 with the pursuit continuing into Marshall County where the Chevy Cobalt then turned east onto U.S. Highway 30 with the chase coming to an end when the car struck an Iowa State Patrol vehicle just east of Marshalltown. Engle was taken to Unity Point Medical Center in Marshalltown for treatment & evaluation, & was not taken into custody by law enforcement immediately following the incident.
