Fire departments from 5 different communities responded to a barn fire Saturday afternoon in the southeastern part of Jasper County near the town of Lynnville. At around 12:30pm, area fire crews were dispatched to a report of a fire in progress at a farm located on East 156th Street South & 440th Avenue northwest of Lynnville. Fire departments from Lynnville, Grinnell, Kellogg, Searsboro & Sully were called upon to battle the blaze. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they discovered smoke & flames coming from inside the barn. At this time, there’s no word on how the fire started or how much damage the barn sustained.
