The Marshalltown Public Library will host two discussions on the book “50 Children: One Ordinary American Couple’s Extraordinary Rescue Mission Into the Heart of Nazi Germany” by Steven Pressman on Wednesday, April 20, at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the library’s community meeting rooms.

“50 Children” is about Gilbert and Eleanor Kraus, a couple from Philadelphia, who in 1939 traveled to Nazi Germany in an effort to save a group of Jewish children.

Copies of the book can be borrowed at the library’s check out desk in advance of the discussions.

Steven Pressman, the author of “50 Children” and filmmaker of the HBO documentary of the same name, will give a talk, April 28 at 6:00 p.m. at Dejardin Hall, Marshalltown Community College.

The program is part of the library’s “Americans and the Holocaust” exhibition, which is a traveling exhibition from the United States Holocaust Museum. The exhibition will be at the library from Saturday, March 26 through Friday, May 6. For more information, please visit www.marshalltownlibrary.org/americans-and-the-holocaust-exhibition/.
