Several Nevada High School FFA members participated in the Iowa State FFA Convention on April 10th and 11th at the ISU Center in Ames.

Nevada FFA had two State Runner-Up Gold placings in the FFA Proficiency Competition. Kent Sponseller placed 2nd in Equine Placement with Adam Pratt placing 2nd in Ag Design and Fabrication/Welding.

The Nevada FFA Poultry Evaluation Team received a 17th Place Gold Award on Tuesday, April 11th. Team members were Ariana Chappel, Rowan Steele, and Josie
Kelly.

Addison Anderson and Ella Toot were also awarded their state FFA Degrees at the state convention.

The Nevada FFA Ag Communications Team earned a Bronze Award. Team members included Lily Henderson, Emily Duarte, Mackenzie Arends, and Dakota Hastings.

The Nevada FFA also had an AG CSI Team that earned a Bronze Medal in their contest. AG CSI Team members included Carson Clem, Gavin Egeland, Caleb Jensen, Emily Kelly, Jaden Grimm, and Lily Frideres.

The Nevada FFA Chapter exhibit featuring the Community Winter Dinner earned a “Bronze Award”, as well. The chapter exhibit was constructed by Ava Vanderheyden and Alexis Muschick.

Nevada High School Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor Kevin Cooper was recognized at the 1st General Session as a Golden Owl Finalist, as well.
