The Marshalltown School Board approved new pay increases for certain groups of employees, including administrators, transportation staff and other key individuals during Monday’s regular board meeting.

Hourly step pay increases were approved for district bus drivers, covering areas such as monitor pay and activity pay.

The new increases will take effect on July 1st.

A three percent wage increase was approved for individuals classified as “other staff” employees.

The board by unanimous margin also a three percent increase for all district administrators.

At Monday’s meeting, the board also received an update from the student school board representatives with an in-depth presentation being made by Marshalltown High School.

The board also accepted a $1,000 donation from the First United Methodist Church of Marshalltown for the purchase of books to be used by students at Rogers Elementary School.
