The Hubbard-Radcliffe School Board has approved utilizing revenues from two different founding sources to better enhance current program offerings within the district.
This week, School Superintendent Adam Zellmer informed the board that now is the right time for the district to consider making use of some “use it or lose it” grants, noting the grants will go towards the district’s network and new interactive classroom displays.
The first grant was through the Federal E-Rate program, which is available for schools to obtain discounts and/or subsidies to purchase telecommunications, internet access, and internal connections.
The other grant is through “REAP,” which is a state program that helps fund technology in Iowa’s schools.
The board this week also approved staff contracts for the 2022-23 school year. After negotiations with the Hubbard-Radcliffe Education Association, both groups settled on $1,210 as the base salary, which represents a 3.16-percent total package increase. An increase of 3.25-percent was also approved for other non-bargaining unit staff.
