A group of people who are opposed to a wind turbine project bring considered in Tama County turned out at Aa public meeting Tuesday evening to present arguments against the project.
Members of a group called “Tama County Against Turbines” turned out in Dysart to voice their concerns about the proposed project.
The wind turbine project is being headed up by officials from Apex Clean Energy Corporation.
Members of the “Tama Against Wind Turbines” group offered presentations that included a number of arguments against the project.
In order to prevent the project from moving forward, the group wants stronger restrictions on wind energy. They say current wind turbine ordinances are outdated and go back to a time when turbines were smaller.
The “Tama Against Wind Turbines” group plans to go before the Board of Supervisors on April 25th to ask for a moratorium on wind turbines in the county.
