Officials in Story County say one person was injured in a fire that broke out Thursday evening at a Nevada mobile home park.
Shortly after 5:30 p.m., the Nevada Fire Department was called to a report of a fire at a mobile home located at 10 Maple Avenue.
When fire crews arrived, they discovered heavy smoke coming from the mobile home.
The first arriving engine crew engaged in an aggressive fire attack into the home.
The same crew rescued one person from the burning home.
The occupant was transported by ambulance to a Des Moines hospital where their condition remains unknown at this time.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The Nevada Fire Department was assisted by fire departments from Colo and Cambridge with additional assistance bring provided by the Story County Sheriff’s Office, Story County Sheriff Dispatch, Nevada Police, and Story County Medical Center Ambulance.
