Alliant Energy is partnering with Trees Forever in conducting a tree planting event in Marshalltown on Saturday, Apr. 23rd, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

The event will kick off the eventual planting of 100 trees in the Marshalltown area this year – starting with 40 on Saturday.

Anyone who would like to help plant a tree in Marshalltown on Saturday is welcome and encouraged to do so.

Since 1991, Marshalltown has received over $106,000 in grants through the Alliant Energy Tree Planting Program, which has equated to over 2,000 trees planted throughout the community.

The City of Marshalltown has also seen nearly 2,000 volunteers contributing over 6,500 hours to plant trees and make Marshalltown greener with each passing year.
