Crews from Alliant Energy responded to a reported power outage in the southeast part of Marshalltown during the evening hours on Saturday.

Initial reports indicate several hundred electrical customers in the area were without power for a time.

The reason for the outage was not immediately clear, although thunderstorms with high wind gusts were prevalent throughout the immediate area during the early evening extending into the late night hours.

Alliant Energy officials say full power was restored to the affected area by late Saturday night.
