Marshalltown Police are currently investigating a serious motor vehicle accident that occurred earlier today at the intersection of Main and 5th Streets.

Police say one of the drivers involved in the accident fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.

According to a police report, a blue 2005 Chrysler 300 was traveling north on 5th Street at a high rate of speed when the vehicle collided with a red 2001 Chevrolet Silverado truck at the intersection of Main and 5th Streets.  The driver of the Chrysler then fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located.

Marshalltown Police are seeking the public’s assistance concerning the whereabouts of 31-year-old Jose Eduardo Victor of Marshalltown.  Police are concerned that Victor may have been injured in the crash.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing and criminal charges are pending.  The Iowa State Patrol has also been called upon to assist with the investigation.

No serious injuries have been reported, but both vehicles involved in the accident have been totally destroyed.
