The Marshalltown Public Library will present a talk & book signing by documentary filmmaker & author Steven Pressman on Thursday, April 28th at 6pm at Dejardin Hall on the Marshalltown Community College campus.
A journalist with over 30 years experience, Steven Pressman is the writer, director & producer of the documentary film “50 Children: The Rescue Mission of Mr. and Mrs. Kraus”. It was first shown on HBO in April of 2013. Pressman reflects on his upcoming presentation in Marshalltown during a recent interview segment with Kyle Martin on KFJB radio.
In his presentation, Pressman will discuss Gilbert & Eleanor Kraus’ story as well as the process of making the documentary film & writing his book. Copies of Pressman’s book “50 Children: One ordinary American Couple’s Extraordinary Rescue Mission into the Hear of Nazi Germany” will be sold by Beaverdale Books & signed by Pressman after the presentation.
The program is part of the library’s American’s & the Holocaust Exhibition, which is a travelling exhibition from the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum. The exhibition will be at the Marshalltown Public Library through Friday, May 6th. The event is free & open to the public.
