The Marshall County Auditor/Recorder’s Office announces that absentee voting by mail and in-person begins on May 18th.
Voters may request an absentee ballot by filling out the “Official Iowa Absentee Ballot Request Form.” Forms are available at the Marshall County Auditor/ Recorder’s Office or the Marshall County website at elections.marshallcountyia.gov/.
To request an absentee ballot by mail, you need to complete an absentee ballot request form and return it to the Auditor/Recorder’s Office by May 23rd.
In-Person absentee voting will start on Wednesday, May 18th at the Marshall County Election Department office at 107 South 1st Avenue through Monday, June 6th between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. ID is required.
Iowa Primary Election is a “Closed primary,” which means that voters must declare a party affiliation on their absentee request form to receive an absentee ballot for the election.
All mail-in ballots must be received at the Auditor/Recorder’s Office before 8:00 p.m. central time on Primary Election Day, June 7th or they can be hand delivered to the office any time up until 8:00 p.m. that day.
