A long-time high school softball coach from central Iowa is under investigation and has been placed on administrative leave, just as the new season is about to get under way.
The Ballard School District confirmed Friday that Head Softball Coach Charlie Husak is under investigation by the district.
Husak led Ballard High School to the state softball championship in 2017. He also led the community’s little league softball team to the Little League World Series in 2015.
The Ballard School District released a statement Friday indicating that Husak is still employed by the district, but has been placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation. Since the matter is a personnel issue, the district cannot offer specific details regarding the investigation at this time.
The team’s first softball game of the season is scheduled for May 23rd against Bondurant-Farrar.
