Agents from the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force recently executed search warrants at a Marshalltown hotel resulting in the arrests of six different individuals on drug charges.

On April 28th, agents served narcotic search warrants at two hotel rooms at the Economy Inn located at 3108 South Center Street.

Forty-three-year-old Luis Omar Cabrera-Heredia of Marshalltown was charged with having Possession of a schedule II Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, With Intent to Deliver, and Failing to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp.

Three other Marshalltown area residents, 33-year-old Dagoberto Camerena-Rodriguez, 44-year-old Sergio Avalos-Castellanos, and 23-year-old Lexi Lynch, were arrested on the same charges as Cabrera-Heredia, with Lynch also being sought by authorities on outstanding warrants.

Twenty-one-year-old Karma Monk of LeGrand was charged by authorities with having Possession of a Schedule Controlled Substance, Meth, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Another Marshalltown resident, 29-year-old Victor Carrillo Jr., was also arrested and formally charged with having Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana.

According to a press release from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, when drug task force agents searched the hotel rooms. vehicles and individuals involved in the investigation, they located and seized approximately 17 pounds of ice methamphetamine, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, over $22,000 in U.S. currency and a vehicle.

The drugs seized in the investigation have an approximate street value of $380,000 depending on distribution methods.

According to Marshall County Sheriff Joel Phillips, the investigation leading to the arrests has been ongoing for about two months and additional arrests related to the case are still expected in the coming weeks.
