The Iowa DOT advises motorists that the main highway that connects Traer and Dysart in Tama County is now closed to traffic due to a road construction project that’s expected to last for several weeks.

According to the DOT, a new culvert is being installed along Iowa Highway 8, just east of Iowa Highway 21.

Work is expected to last through late July, depending on weather conditions in the coming weeks.

The DOT will have a detour in place using U.S. Highway 63, County Road D-65, and Highway 21.
