A Toledo woman will serve time in prison for leading law enforcement authorities in north central Iowa on a 100 mile per hour chase after she was seen leaving a suspected drug house in the town of Hampton.
Twenty-six-year-old Mina Annabeth Youngbear of Toledo was recently sentenced to up to five years behind bars after pleading guilty to eluding and driving while barred.
According to the complaint, law enforcement officers spotted Youngbear operating e vehicle that was leaving a known drug house in Hampton on the late afternoon of January 24th.
A patrol vehicle then attempted to initiate a traffic stop ,at which time a chase ensued. The chase initially began on Iowa Highway 3 at speeds over 100 miles per hour with the vehicle traveling through several stop signs during the pursuit.
The chase then continued northbound along a rural Franklin County road where Youngbear allegedly drove around a stop stick before turning onto U.S. Highway 65.
She then entered the northbound lanes of Interstate 35 with the chase reaching speeds of 115 miles per hour before finally coming to an end a short distance south of the Clear Lake/Mason City metropolitan area.
Youngbear was taken into custody by arresting officers without incident.
