The Nevada High School FFA Chapter raised a total of $7,746 during this year’s Greenhouse Plant Sales event.
The final tally surpasses the 2021 sale by over $1,700, according to Kevin Cooper, Nevada Agriculture Education Instructor and FFA Advisor.
Total wholesale and input cost for the spring greenhouse crop totaled $3,333, therefore providing the chapter with a net profit of $4,413.
The Nevada FFA started having Saturday sales on April 16th, 23rd, and 30th, with the final sales event being held on May 7th.
The next greenhouse crop will be mums in the fall. Watermelons have been started in the greenhouse and then planted in the field. The watermelon will be used in the school lunch program next fall.
