The City of Marshalltown Public Works Department is advising motorists of a local short-term road closure that will be in effect beginning this weekend.

Beginning Friday, May 13th and continuing through Monday, May 16th a section of South 12th Avenue will be closed at the U-P Railroad Tracks between Turner Street and East Madison Street.

A detour will be in place to reroute traffic from South 12th Avenue to East Anson Street, South 18th Avenue, and East Nevada Street.

Motorists are advised to plan accordingly and take the signed detour or alternate routes.
