The Marshall County Supervisors approved several thousand dollars in change orders for the courthouse renovation project at their regular meeting on Tuesday.
The majority of the change orders that were approved by the board at the meeting dealt primarily with exterior masonry work being done at the courthouse.
The board also heard from Attorney Michael Galloway of Ahlers and Cooney Associates who unveiled the findings from a series of interviews conducted with former employees from the Marshall County Treasurer’s Office.
County Treasurer Jarret Heil recently requested that the base pay rate for certain employees in the treasurer’s office be increased to bring their wages more in line with employees from other county departments.
Galloway noted the interviews that were conducted with former employees from the treasurer’s office revealed that none of those former employees had left their positions with the office due to issues involving their salaries.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board also authorized a letter of support for a Destination Iowa Grant for the Iowa River’s Edge Trail Project.
The board also authorized new health prescription drug benefit plan and employee dental benefit plan rates for county employees for fiscal year 2023.
