The Iowa Valley Community College District Board of Directors has authorized the sale of $15 million in general obligation bonds to go toward future facilities improvements at campuses in Iowa Falls, Marshalltown and Grinnell.
The board took formal action on the matter during their regular meet held Wednesday on the Marshalltown Community College campus.
In 2019, voters approved a $32 million bond issue to help fund various building improvements at all three IVCCD campus locations.
At last week’s meeting, the board also approved an agreement with Apple PI Consulting as part of a project that allows for shared financial aid services at both Ellsworth and Marshalltown Community College.
The board also approved a contract with the Central Iowa Juvenile Detention Center in Eldora for educational services and testing for juveniles.
An extended lease agreement was also approved by the board with Marshall County for use of the Orpheum Theater in Marshalltown.
Following the regular board meeting, the board went into closed session to discuss collective bargaining issues and to conduct an evaluation for IVCCD Chancellor Kristie Fisher.
