The Ames Animal Shelter is partnering for a second year with veterinary students from the ISU Animal Club in hosting a microchip clinic for dog an cat owners in the Ames metropolitan area.
The event will take place on Saturday, May 21st from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Ames Water Plant located at 1800 East 13th Street.
As a convenience to pet owners, the microchipping event will be held as a drive-up. Owners will remain in their vehicle, and animals will be transported to the microchip implant stations and then back to the vehicle. the cost to microchip a dog or cat is $10, which includes lifetime registration. participants must be Ames residents and there is a limit of three animals per household. Those interested should submit an appointment request to www.cityofames.org/microchip.
The Ames Animal Shelter, located at 325 Billy Sunday Road, continues to be open by appointment only for animal adoption.
